Ludshire is a small province, about seven days walk East of the Barony Capital. In the North are Mountains, forests to the East and West, in the South is a lake and a river runs through it. It is about three days walk to cross it (about half a day from town to town.)
There are three towns. Each has a few hamlets around it, and there are more villages scattered throughout the countryside. Characters can live anywhere they like, but the Garrison is based in Ludsford.
Ludsford
Ludsford is a town, with a stable population of nearly two thousand people, It is the administration centre for Ludshire and it has the Garrison, the Barracks and the only Temple in Ludshire. Market Days are Wednesday and Saturday, and there are monthly meetings at the Town Hall between the Mayor and the citizens of Ludshire.
The Temple
The Temple in Ludsford is run by Guardian Eos and is dedicated to the Balance Goddess Don (for IC or OOC information about Don please contact shire-plot at mistelien dot org). Whilst being primarily a Temple of Balance there are shrines within it dedicated to each of the 9 Paths with the non-proscribed Path shrines being tended by lay people or visiting priests of those Paths.
Crow's Wold
This town has barely more than fifty homes in it, surrounded by two dozen farms. In the past few years they have developed reasonable relations with the druids in the forest area to the East.
Poulton
A small town to the west of Ludsford, Poulton straddles the river, with a modern watermill. It supplies a fair percentage of the Shire's flour.
The Guard Post
A day's travel to the east of Ludsford is a fairly new guard post, with accommodation for travellers. It protects the Shire from threats from the mountains, and regular patrols set out from here.
The Druid's Grove
This grove is still being consecrated by the druids, and lies in the Eastern Forest.
